Side Assembly - Dry Fit
Pre sand all of the parts With 100 to 120 grit sand paper sand all exposed surfaces smooth.
Please do not apply glue to any surface until the entire step stool is dry assembled
Please Notice the following:
1. The step stool has a right and left side.
2. The counter sunk holes in the vertical legs face the outside.
3. Shelf rails have an offset mortise joint.
4. Steps have an offset tenon on each end
Now take two legs, and four horizontal rails and dry fit the pieces together.
If necessary, sand the tenons so they will slip into the mortise slot.
The picture is correct because the mortises for the steps are in descending sequence.
The top cross member is flush the top of the leg.
Add the other leg to complete the side assembly. Again, the counter sunk holes at the top of the leg should be facing down. The mortise joints should be facing upward.
