Hall Tree Assembly Instructions

Now is the time to assemble the case permanently. Disassemble the case. Reassemble the back frame, this time applying glue to the inside of the tenons. Clamp the two sides together, install the pocket screws and be sure to wipe any excess glue off with a wet rag. Make sure the  front surfaces of the rails are flush with the style. Apply glue to the inside mortise joints (slots), the two inside pieces and then fit the center top piece (with the curved front) in place. Apply glue to the inside mortise joints (slots) of the base and fit the center top piece assembly onto the base. Install two screws to hold the centerpieces together. Apply glue to the inside mortise joints (slots), the two inside pieces and then place the partitions in the mortise joint (slots) on the other side of the center top piece. Apply glue to the mortise joints of the outside vertical pieces and base. Put the outside vertical pieces in place. With a square, make sure all angles are at 90 degrees. Clamp and let dry over night. With the wooden frame assembled, take time to sand with 180 grid sand paper, lightly make a sanding pass on all edges. Be sure to sand all joints to make sure the transitions are smooth to the touch.
