Light brown to a dark tan. Sapwood and heartwood have similar colors and grain patterns. Sapwood tends to be lighter in color. Oak is an open grain wood and is extremely strong and durable. The classic finish is a "Golden Oak" stain with a clear finish such as polyurethane.
